To be successful on your online marketing campaign, brand uses combination of digital media. This topic is also included in digital marketing fundamentals that if you use them accordingly, it could bring you a greater advantage.
For starters who are new in marketing, it is never been easy to convince anyone to buy your product considering there are tens of thousand companies in the world selling the same merchandise as your business. The process of winning the customer’s trust could take a while and you must earn it. A good strategy can be handy in times like this.
Three types of Digital Media
- Paid media
- Owned media
- Earned media
Paid media
Paid media is an advertising you pay for, this includes any form of digital promotion a brand pays to put online or called Ads. These can be used to drive traffic to owned and earned media faster but it limits to the period when you stop paying for it.
- Video ads
- Banner ads
- Shopping ads
- Pop-ups ads
- Social media ads
My advise is to have a compelling ad campaign that will make your prospective customer to engage in your advertisement, followed by a carefully tailored content that will capture their interest to learn more about your product.
Owned media
These are the digital contents a brand creates, owns and have full control. They provide value by giving customers what they need to make smart buying decision. It does not sell or advertise product directly.
- Case studies
- Blogs
- Website content
- eBook
- Social media content
- Whitepapers
Once you captured your customers attention, they now stay in your website wanting to know more about your products and offering. Although they might compare it to other brands from your competition, it is your job to keep them consider your product. Educating them can gain their trust even if you don’t give them a tremendous discount yet.
Earned media
Positive exposure generated from a personal or public recommendation that raises awareness and enhance a brand’s reputation. It helps gain public trust and build new market.
- Positive press coverage
- Blog posts
- Written or video reviews
- Social media mentions or User Generated Content
After you gain their trust, they may then search for any previous customers that are happy and satisfied with your product because they want to make sure that the quality will satisfy the expectation.
